Steve Heidel has been protecting people his entire career.

Steve Heidel is a distinguished veteran of the United States Air Force and Pennsylvania Air National Guard. During his service, Steve was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal and achieved early promotions. Following his discharge from active military duty, he worked as a correctional officer with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections for two years before joining the Pennsylvania State Police.
During his tenure as a patrol member in Gettysburg, Steve consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism and a strong commitment to public safety. In his personal time, he served as a role model and mentor to youth as a football coach and used that position to help foster positive relationships between law enforcement and the community.
As a result of his integrity and unwavering dedication to the public, Steve was selected to work for the Executive Services Office, which is the state government’s equivalent to the Secret Service.
Steve held a highly esteemed leadership position within the field of executive protection for 14 years with the Pennsylvania State Police, with the last four as the commander of the Executive Services Office for the governor. In this role, he was directly responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the governor, lieutenant governor and their immediate families. This position also led to Steve providing security for a Hollywood A list actor and a reality star.
Steve spent over a decade refining his craft by training alongside top experts and leaders in the security industry. He has received training from prestigious institutions such as U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Diplomatic Security with the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Federal Air Marshal Service, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, and many private sector entities.
A few months after Steve retired, he added Certified SAFE (Situational Awareness for Employees) Instructor to his impressive resume while starting his own business. Now, as the CEO and lead trainer for 7Seconds, Steve is using his extensive training and experience to help others mitigate the dangers presented by people or scenarios that could cause them harm.

Throughout his career, Steve received numerous commendations in recognition of his outstanding service and dedication to duty, but he derived his greatest sense of accomplishment from building strong teams and relationships within his department.
Once Steve took leadership of the governor’s Executive Services Office, the team received accreditation from The Commission for the National Governor’s Security Association in 2018. This was the first time in the history of the state of Pennsylvania that this office received this prestigious certification. This accreditation was awarded again in 2019 and 2020 before Steve
retired from the Pennsylvania State Police.
